cPanel now provides "Manage Team" after nearly a decade of requests. The new functionality allows the creation of team user accounts, allowing several people to access, manage, and work on a single cPanel account without putting their credentials at risk.
Account owner can use "Manage Team" to enable developers and administrators to manage their company's websites. Each team member will have their own login and access to the same cPanel account resources. This allows for the separation of duties and offers an audit trail for all accounts.
One of the goals of the "Manage Team" feature is to allow numerous roles to provide access to the specific functionality required by the user. For example, if an account owner hired an e-mail administrator, this team user would hold the e-mail role. This role would grant access to the E-mail feature group in cPanel, ensuring that the team user has the tools he needs to execute his work. An account owner may engage a web designer, web programmer, or database administrator. All of these jobs have access to resources that will aid them in their work without requiring the account owner's cPanel login.
