- In your Mail program, click on Accounts and then click on Add account on the right.
- On the Choose an account screen, click Advanced setup.
- Then choose the Internet email option.
- On the next window, you will be prompted to provide the information related to your e-mail account:
- Internet email account: Enter your e-mail address
- User name: Enter your e-mail address
- Password: Enter password
- Account name: Enter a name for your e-mail account
- Send your messages using this name: Enter your name
- Incoming email server: Enter mail.domain.com *
- Account type: Select IMAP4
- Outgoing (SMTP) email server: Enter mail.domain.com *
- Check the box Outgoing server requires authentication
- Check the box Use the same username ans password to send and receive email
- Check the box Require SSL for incoming server
- Check the box Require SSL for outgoing server
* Replace 'domain.com' with your domain name. - Click Sign-in, then click Done to finish.
How to set up an e-mail account on Mail in Windows 8?
- Open Mail.
- On the window Mail, click View all in Settings.
- On the window Add an account, click Other account.
- On the window Add your email accounts, check IMAP and click Connect.
- Click Show more details.
- On the next window, you will be prompted to provide the essential information for your email account.
- Email Address : Enter your e-mail address
- Username : Enter your e-mail address, again
- Password : Enter your password
- Incoming (IMAP) email server :Enter mail.domain.com*
- Port : 993
- Check the box Incoming server requires SSL
- Outgoing (SMTP) email server :Enter mail.domain.com*
- Port : 465
- Check the box Outgoing server requires SSL
- Check the box Outgoing server requires authentication
- Check the box Use the same username and password to send and receive email
