SSH (Secure Shell) is used to establish a secure connection between a computer and a server on which data is located (for example a website). Shell access allows the execution of commands on the server and the encrypted transfer of data.
For security reasons, SSH access is disabled on shared hosting plans. It is available on virtual private servers (VPS), cloud servers and dedicated servers solutions.
As a workaround, to securely transfer your files, you can use File Transfer Protocol Secure (FTPS) or the cPanel file manager.
